Aggie Toppins is an MFA candidate in graphic design at the Maryland Institute College of Art. She has 10 years of professional experience ranging from environmental graphics to brand identity and communications design. For Aggie, design is most exciting when it has the potential to improve lives. She enjoys using design to clarify complex information and deliver ways for people to express and exchange their own ideas. Last summer, Aggie worked as a graduate student intern at IDEO, where she was able to apply her interest in co-creation to a human-centered approach to innovation design. Her master's thesis, Memory and Mortality, employs observational research and participation as key processes for discovery. Moving forward, she hopes to continue growing a design practice that is media-agnostic and informed by experiential learning and user input. A heartfelt Midwesterner, Aggie received her BS in Graphic Design from the University of Cincinnati in 2003.
